I sat staring at the screen for a long time before I finally deleted it all. I started over at least another six times before I finally sent this message:

Hello Daniel,

I’m sending you a quick note to let you know that I’m pregnant. I am about ten weeks along. I’m having the baby and that’s about it. Hope all is well.

I read it twice before I gave up on wording this news any better. I hit send and started shutting down my computer. My phone chimed letting me know that I had a message. I knew whom it was from. I looked at the screen and saw that it definitely was from him. He responded within seconds, but I ignored the message. I didn't have anything else to say.

I couldn’t think of what else could possibly be said. I was going to be a mother and he was going to be a father. We could discuss the dynamics of that later. We had time, a whole six months before we had to set something in stone. I made my way to my bedroom and pulled up a book to read on my Kindle.

It didn’t take long for me to grow tired and fall off to sleep. I guess a day or two of revealing the truth about my life was too much on my body. I welcomed the sleep. It was better than sitting in the pocket of my reality. Dreams were definitely better than the now of my life.
